“The LORD’S TABLE”

Jeremiah 48 : 10 “Cursed is he who does the work of the Lord deceitfully, And cursed is he who keeps back his sword from blood”
Cursed in the Hebrew is “arar” to put a curse on. Oxford dictionary defines it as ”
a solemn utterance intended to invoke a supernatural power to inflict harm or punishment on someone or something.”
“Remiya” in the Hebrew is the word “deceitfully” which also means slackness, laxness, treachery, false, guile and slothful. If you read 1 Samuel 15:3, GOD gives EXPLICIT INSTRUCTIONS to King Saul concerning the Amalekite nation, in a nutshell; KILL THE KING, KILL EVERYONE INCLUDING THE ANIMALS AND LEAVE NO LIVING THING ALIVE! A few verses into the chapter, King Saul and his army DISOBEY this command of the LORD and choose to spare and use the best spoils, the best animals including the life of the Amalekite King Ahab. (FYI: Haman in the book of Esther,great great great great ancestor, whom Hitler is descended from 1 of his 10 sons. Proven in the Torah and Bible) Interesting study!
When GOD has employed you for HIS service, I caution you that if you serve HIM in any capacity and your work for HIM is done with a false, negligent, pretentious attitude; there is a irreversible consequence. If you are serving and your heart is not fully committed to the assignment, if you are serving GOD “outwardly” but inwardly your intentions are to serve your own self, if you are serving lazily, inactive, lethargic and not doing anything for the LORD with the right heart,–we can fool our Spiritual Leaders, fellow Christian brethren, even ourselves some of the time, BUT NOT GOD!
“Be NOT DECEIVED, GOD IS NOT MOCKED, whatever a man soweth, so shall he reap!”Galatians 6 : 7. When GOD curses, no man can reverse!
When GOD tells us what to do and how to fulfill a specific task and we do not complete the task as given despite it’s gruesome, inexplicable, comprehensible instructions, we are inflicted with the curse of disobedience. GOD doesn’t need you to circumvent HIS INSTRUCTIONS by “doing what YOU think is best”, He needs you to just do it, no questions asked! To draw back your sword, meaning to not fully serve with the right heart and attitude is to draw toward you the HEAVIER HAND OF GOD: the hand of judgment and punishment. Serve HIM with the RIGHT ATTITUDE and it begins and ends with your REPENTANT, PURE heart. Serve Him in joy and gratitude not because of what He can do for you today, but because of what HE DID FOR YOU on a hill 3,000 years in place called Calvary!
