Daniel 4:13,“I saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and, behold, a watcher and an holy one came down from heaven;”
Watcher in Hebrew “ir”- an angel as a guardian, a guard, guarding the souls of men
Holy one in Hebrew “qadish” – holy, separate, angels,those who are sacred to the Most High
The word עִיר (eer), “watcher,” occurs only in this chapter in the Bible, Daniel 4:13, Daniel 4:17, Daniel 4:23. Nebuchadnezzar sees “a watcher and holy one descend”, some suggest that he sees 2 angels.The verse describes Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, an angel, whom he saw come down from heaven, and proclaimed a sentence aloud against the Babylonian king. This angel is here called a watcher, or watchman, not only because angels by their nature are spirits, they don’t slumber nor sleep, but because by their office they are ministering spirits –
Hebrews 1:14“Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?”. They are instructed by GOD to attend continually to their assignmentss, ready to do His will; not infected with man’s corruption, are holy and watching all opportunities of serving their great Master. They, as watchers, encamp (Psa 34: 7) round those that fear God, to deliver them, and bear them up in their hands (Psa 91:12). This angel was a messenger, or ambassador (so some read it), and a holy one. Holiness becomes God’s house; therefore angels that attend and are employed by him are holy ones.
For reference and information, I wanted to share with you that the first part of the *book of Enoch is called “The Book of the Watchers”. This part of the book shares common content with the Hebrew Bible : e.g. Adam and Eve; Cain and Abel; the marriage of the angels with the daughters of men. However, it is precisely the differences and the additions in the retelling of the well-known biblical narratives which draw our attention. There is a plethora of information about angels out there in the known and unknown world awaiting anyone that is seeking answers. Remember; the FALLEN ANGELS currently influence mankind and the world that we live in, they are demonic watchers. Always discern the information that you hear and read and pray about angels before delving into knowledge that is “outside the WORD OF GOD” claiming that it is the “WORD OF YESHUA HAMASHIACH”!
We are grateful for the “HOLY WATCHERS” who are assigned to carefully monitor; protect and assist the heirs of salvation. Thank ABBA for these holy ones as they watch over you; today!
*“Why is the book of Enoch not included in the Bible?”
The book of Enoch is one of the “Pseudepigrapha books” and was apparently written during the second or first century before Jesus Christ. The book of Enoch is the first book which contains one hundred and eight chapters which comprise five sections that are often also called books. This book is fascinating to read, it is important to note that the first book of Enoch is not Scripture. That is, the book is not inspired by God. The book was quoted in the Apocryphal book of Baruch, and in several early church manuscripts. The book of Enoch was never referred to by Jesus or any of the New Testament writers as Scripture, and the book was not included in the New Testament by the apostles. It is commonly misunderstood that the content of the Bible evolved over time. But the New Testament clearly tells us that the apostles were identifying Scripture as it was being written (2 Peter 3:14-16; cf. 1 Timothy 5:18 and Luke 10:7 ).The book of Enoch was never included in the Roman Catholic or Protestant Bibles
